Fresh Pond Capital seeks to invest in companies that share our belief that the provision of beneficial products and services, along with a commitment to superior employee relations, minimal environmental impact, and a respect for human rights is the only sustainable manner in which to operate.

In addition, we will attempt to avoid investing in any firms that violate these guidelines or operate in industries that clients find objectionable.

A growing number of academic studies support our contention that operating in a sustainable and ethical manner also makes financial sense.

 

Advocacy

 

With ownership comes certain responsibilities. We believe shareholders have a responsibility to insure that their corporations act in a sustainable and ethical manner.

We will take an active role in leveraging our clients’ ownership positions to encourage corporations to operate at the highest levels of responsible citizenship. This interaction will occur through direct contact with corporate management, working in coalition with other interested parties,  and through the voting and introduction of shareholder resolutions.

Last year, 219 corporations received shareholder resolutions on issues of corporate social responsibility.  We will keep you informed of any resolutions involving companies that you own and how we voted your shares.

Plug-in electric vehicles capable of over 100 mpg is one emerging industry we support.
